We booked a tour for a group of four and were picked up directly from our hotel in a comfortable minibus. The driver was polite, explained everything we needed to know, and translated into our language if we had any misunderstandings. The organization was excellent. We also enjoyed the tour itself. First, we visited a family of monkeys, with a lookout over the Strait of Malacca. Then we had dinner at a seafood restaurant; it was included in the price, along with one drink per person; other drinks were extra. Then we boarded a boat with the other participants and were taken first to see fireflies, then to the sea to see blue plankton. It looks very unusual and beautiful; photos can't capture it.
