The trip is a bit expensive, but Slim and Karen were such great guides. They gave us lots of information along the way, and we had plenty of time at each stop. You can really take your time exploring all three trails at Wai-O-Tapu. I highly recommend the tour. It's a must-see if you're in Rotorua.
