It rained, so we couldn't explore Hanamikoji Street. The Kyoto cuisine restaurant was up in the dark mountains, and walking back to the car was quite scary. It's best to know a little Japanese for this activity, otherwise you'll miss a lot of the guide's explanations.

This was a highly recommended trip. My flight was during the day, so I could arrive on the island that evening. After arriving at Malé airport, I easily found the hotel's pick-up counter. The speedboat ride to the island took 45 minutes. The island staff were already waiting at the pier; the welcome ceremony was simple yet warm. Check-in was very quick; my luggage was already at the door when I arrived at my room. The food on the island was plentiful, so there was no need to bring instant noodles or water. I ordered one bottle of water each day for dinner to take back, and they provided two bottles during the day. Drinks and pizzas by the pool were delicious and inexpensive. Large bottles of water and drinks cost $4 USD, while pizzas ranged from $18 to $25 USD, plus an 18% service charge. There were many activities on the island, but since I saw dolphins on my first day and wasn't interested in deep-sea fishing, I didn't participate in any activities. The snorkeling at the pier is a must-do; the trench was incredibly beautiful, and the infinity pool was absolutely stunning. Overall, it was a great experience!
