Never having tried anything like this before, I was a bit apprehensive but I really needn't have worried. Ludger explained everything in detail before we got into the kayaks and really put me at my ease. It was great fun and the views of Heidelberg from the river were fabulous. Ludger stopped several times to point out places of interest and included lots of anecdotes relating to the history of the town (in German and English). It was all very enjoyable and I would definitely do it again, although next time I would wear gloves as the oars rubbed the skin between my thumb and forefinger a little, but maybe that's just me!

Casual and lovely. Weather ended up being off and on but we were warm and dry at the very front of the boat with a nearly unobstructed Panasonic view. Great way to see more. I’ve been on others that allow you to get off and check out a location, this one didn’t but worked for the price. Free beer, wine and pop is a plus. They had minimal food options, works if you really need a snack. Toilets on board of course. And full open air areas when we did get periods of the weather clearing up.


