I had heard that physical SIM cards were the only option in Sri Lanka. My husband had to wait in line at the airport to buy a Dialog SIM card, and I bought this one. During our stay, we went to Sigiriya, Elephant Safari, Hikkaduwa, Colombo, and many other places, but we didn't experience any bad signal. Hotel Wi-Fi in Sri Lanka is weak, so an eSIM or SIM card is recommended. Since there's a line for Dialog, this eSIM was ultimately the best option.

We traveled around the island - the connection was everywhere, not always stable in remote areas, but the e-SIM connection was better than the physical SIM that my friends bought at the Colombo airport

Everything worked immediately, there were no connection problems, everything is simple, the internet speed is stable, at least in Hikkaduwa and on the way from Colombo airport to Hikkaduwa.

The e-SIM worked fine, except for the three hours of Maya outage from December 31st to January 1st, 2026. Otherwise, the connection was fine, including calls. I was traveling to Goa.

We bought a global e-SIM with 1GB per day (enough for instant messaging and Google Maps for two users, as it shares data). Our goal is to travel across four countries. We've traveled through two countries so far, and everything works fine. Initially, we had to manually configure the e-SIM because the hotspot for data tethering wasn't working. But it turned out to be easy to configure; the instructions given upon purchase were sufficient. So far, we're very happy.
