It was my first time picking and frying tea leaves myself. It was such an interesting experience. Thank you to our tour guide, Xiao Xu, for taking us all the way. The explanations were very clear and attentive. The aunt was very enthusiastic. It was a great feeling to sit in the teahouse and enjoy the tea.

Our family traveled to Hangzhou, hired through Ctrip as a tour guide, Xiao He (He Li). In Hangzhou, after the arrival of the dog days of summer, the chirping of cicadas enveloped the heatwave, while the sunlight shimmered the waters of West Lake. Thankfully, Xiao He was there with us. Beads of sweat on her forehead reflected the fragmented light, but her explanations were as refreshing as Longjing tea—from the lingering story of the White Snake to the ingenious craftsmanship of the Six Bridges on the Su Causeway, each word imbued with the tenderness of the Jiangnan region. She always reminded us to rest under the eaves, and the iced sour plum soup she offered us carried a heartfelt message deeper than the West Lake itself. Despite the scorching sun, her patience outlasted the willow shade, transforming the stifling summer heat into a lingering sweetness. This trip to Hangzhou was imbued with a poetic quality thanks to her. Thanks to Xiao He, even amidst the sweltering heat, we were able to experience the city's most gentle texture.


