SST the Dolphin and its crew were very friendly and provided meticulous service, especially Finn, who even helped peel shrimps. We avoided the crowded Surprise Cave, but still enjoyed the beauty of Halong Bay. The feeling of kayaking and passing through two sea caves was still very magical.

The activity is cool and quite varied. I'm not giving it 5 stars because of the time invested. Here you have to count 2 hours to get there + ferry to cross + bus to get to the first destination + ferry, and then back on the boat. You arrive right away for lunch. So, the excursion doesn't start until 12:00. I don't know... It's cool, but it's a lot of walking. And the same goes for getting back. We left Hanoi at 7:30 and returned at 8:45 pm. That said, Cat Ba is cool, the bike ride is cool too, and you end up kayaking and swimming.

The tour guide was excellent—handsome, funny, humorous, thoughtful, and energetic. The boat trip was also excellent, and the top-floor photos were stunning. The itinerary was well-planned, and the buffet included seafood (oysters, shrimp, clams, etc.), fruit, and more. Victor was also very helpful in pre-communication. Highly recommended.

Halong Bay is definitely worth a trip! The tour, which included hotel pickup in Hanoi, a trip to Halong, and a stay on "Le Journey," was well organized overall. We had somewhat misguided expectations when the "manager" announced a "Vietnamese cooking class," but we ended up rolling pre-prepared ingredients into summer rolls. Another was the announcement of a "hike" where we took a bus to the "Hospital Cave," which we briefly visited, and then took the bus back to the ship. All in all, though, a highly recommended tour!


