Tom and Graeme were great. If I could give them a higher score I would. The Snow Monkey Park was the absolute highlight of our day. We lucked out with a couple hundred monkeys running around. We also stopped for a delicious, traditional lunch at a beautiful restaurant in a 150+ year old building. The day was planned well and we had an interesting day. Tom (a retired teacher originally from Canada) spoke perfect english and provided excellent detail on all the sites visited and even helped to explain the various courses at lunch. He kept us entertained during the ride with explanations, fun facts and even a trivia game. Highly recommend this tour with Thomas and Graeme!!★

The bus, with seats assigned based on who showed up that day, lasted 3.5 hours in Kamikochi. We took a few photos along the way, finally stopping at Kappa Bridge for an apple pie and some milk bread. We arrived just in time—we might have been too late to walk further. We'd been checking the weather forecast before departure, and we changed our schedule at the last minute based on the weather. It turned out to be a wise decision! If it had rained, it would have been cold, difficult, and the scenery wouldn't have been as beautiful.★

It's a bit far from Nagoya, but it's well worth it. It was a great way to do a light trek with the family. The autumn leaves and the perennial snow at the summit make it even more spectacular. Since most of the participants were English-speaking, our guide agreed to conduct the tour in English only, and we had no problems at all. ^^★

Masa was a fantastic guide who took us to places we otherwise would not have found on our own, mostly small family-owned restaurants where he had personal connections with the owner/operators. The food was also some of the best we had during our time in Japan.
