Tom, our guide for the day, and all the staff at Dive2gether, were really great. They were very welcoming and explained everything before we set off. The trip was amazing.
Reviews: Georgioupolis Area: Full-Day Bus Trip to Elafonisi Island

Overall, a lovely trip. The journey there was very pleasant, with stops that were all perfectly acceptable and not at all intrusive. The bus driver was excellent. The tour guide was friendly, but unfortunately, she didn't tell us anything about the country, its people, or even the destination itself. That was a shame, as I was really looking forward to it after reading so many positive reviews. The pickup point mentioned in the email was also incorrect, but we were able to sort that out.
Reviews: From Georgioupoli: Easy Hiking Day-Trip to Imbros Gorge
Guest User2025-11-04
The excursion was very well organized. Our guide, Alexandra, spread cheer with her infectious enthusiasm and shared entertaining stories about Crete. Time flew by on the bus. The hike through the gorge was scenic and generously timed. After the hike, we met at a taverna where we could relax and wait. The hike is as described: easy, with no challenging sections. Sturdy footwear is essential, however. The subsequent stop in Frangokastello, with the opportunity to swim, was another highlight for us – the beach was stunning against the backdrop of a fortress, and the water was actually warmer at the end of October than in the north. We thoroughly enjoyed swimming. It was a perfect day all around. Many thanks to Alexandra and the safe bus driver.
Reviews: Samaria Gorge Hiking from Chania with Professional Hiking Guide

A fantastic day, organisation without fault, guide super, gorge spectacular. Coach was air conditioned which was a god send at the end of the day as the last 3km of the walk was hot beyond anything I've experienced (although from the UK so not a high bar!), really well driven on some very mountainous roads. Guide gave just the right amount of information and some interesting facts during the coach journey without overdoing it. Available without being in in your face, basicly you make your own way down while she swept up any stragglers to ensure every makes the ferry. The gorge is spectacular and I would recommend to anyone interested. It is nearly all down hill but it is rough ground. I wore trainers which I would not recommend if you have hiking boots (I did not bring them to Crete), by the end the soles of my feet were suffering from the rough ground. It is also very hot, especally the last 3km from the National Park exit to the ferry. It's tough but very much worth the effort, time and cost.
