Reviews: Malbork Castle regular tour

When I booked this tour, it was said to be 5-6hours duration. We were collected by shuttle, then 50mins drive to the castle. I was excited for the tour - but it was only for 3 hours!! Very disappointed in this. While in Malbork, this was my chance to get the full knowledge & experience of the castle while here... but it fell short! May I suggest your guides speak into a device that projects to our handheld devices? (Like Neuschwansteincastle have - so much better!) - so that we can hear you in the cavernous rooms with other louder voices. We all had to stand closer & closer to the guide to hear above some booming voices, then no chance for photos. There was a delay then, so we could take photos. Some areas were not told us as we walked past, that I had to ask about. I wished for the remaining 2 hours of the tour, or at least a refund for the unused portion.. ★

Sebastian is an excellent tour guide with a great command of the English language. As a retired history teacher, I can tell you that his knowledge of Malbork and Polish history is first rate. He manages to hit the sweet spot between being informative and saturating you with too much information. For people who are not familiar with Polish history and culture, he helps you to see Malbork and Westerplatte within the larger context of Polish history and culture. When we visited Westerplatte, he not only knew the history well, but he also helped us to understand why this place is so important to Polish people. I left with a much deeper understanding of Polish history and culture and I am sure you will too. I am also a guide of historic walking tours so I really appreciate the find job Sebastian did.★

The driver was friendly and punctual, and provided useful information en route. Our guide at the museum, Marek, was excellent. He helped to bring to life the tragic history of this place. Information boards in English were also very useful in understanding what happened here.★

This was one of our best days of our cruise enjoying Gdańsk. The old city is so beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the Amber museum and experiencing the Museum of Solidarity. Had an excellent authentic lunch. Fantastic day with a fabulous guide !!
