I made a last-minute decision to travel to Luzhou in southern Sichuan, but after checking airfares, I found that with the Lunar New Year approaching, only first-class tickets were available, which were very expensive. I also checked online and found that the flight from Chongqing to Luzhou takes over three hours, so I decided to take a roundabout route. I found a package tour that included round-trip airfare and one night's accommodation in Chongqing, so I immediately booked it. Later, the staff said they no longer had the 1-yuan airport pickup service, but they would reimburse me for the 50 yuan taxi fare. Chongqing, this mountain city, is such a wealthy metropolis! It took me half an hour to get a taxi. The hotel was okay, about a 15-minute walk from Jiefangbei, just a few blocks away. I ate at the food street, trying wontons, Chongqing glutinous rice balls, dan dan noodles, and other snacks. The only downside was that due to a change in plans, I had to return a day earlier, and the tickets couldn't be changed. I only got a tax refund, which was a small loss. Before traveling independently, you must plan your dates carefully and avoid making changes, otherwise you might suffer losses.
