I didn't see the sunrise over Meili Snow Mountain on October 10th! But seeing Meili Snow Mountain for the first time was still breathtaking, I'll definitely come again! The driver, Tashi Langji (license plate 6229), drove steadily, and I didn't get carsick on the mountain roads. He later took us to Napa Lake. The overall time management was excellent, my companions didn't run late, the trip went smoothly, and the comfort level was probably higher than taking a bus. Highly recommended!

The weather is unpredictable as the mountains have their own microclimate so it always a bit of a gamble, yet it’s worth to go to see the beauty of the nature. The tour is packed with stops in different locations so you’ll see a variety of natural wonders. The driver is a professional who brought us back safely. However, the road is not for the weak, all twists and turns can make you sick so be prepared. On the way there are a lot of shops, restrooms etc so don’t worry if you forgot something. Oxygen and warm jacket are provided. Thank you for the tour.

What an incredibly lucky day! We witnessed the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains as we had hoped! Our driver, Mr. Kangba (license plate number 4321), was absolutely wonderful. The itinerary was perfectly planned, giving everyone ample time for photos. Mr. Kangba was incredibly thoughtful, getting out of the car every time to open the door for us and reminding everyone to keep their phones safe – something other tour guides wouldn't do! We laughed and sang our way through the journey – a truly wonderful day! 🥳 A day well worth the trip! Thank you to Ms. Orange from the travel agency for patiently answering all my questions! And thank you to Mr. Kangba for his company the whole way! A perfect day! ✌️✌️✌️

I participated in a day trip from Shangri-La to Meili Snow Mountain to watch the sunrise. The tour itinerary went as planned, with the bus arriving at the north entrance of the old town at 2:30 AM, and returning a little earlier than scheduled, around 1:10 PM. One of the best things about this tour is that it arrives at the observation deck earlier than any other tour bus. Thanks to this, I was able to watch the sunrise from the front row. (Other tour buses arrived 15 minutes after we did, and it got quite crowded.) The driver, Yang Guiquan, drove appropriately, and I didn't get carsick. He also kept me informed of meeting times and other details via WeChat in a way that was easy for a foreigner like me to understand. The only thing I would like to suggest is that it would be great if the meeting time for the sunrise could be delayed by another 10 minutes. The sunrise was at 7:22 AM, and the meeting time was 7:40 AM. Since it takes 5 minutes to get to the bus, I only had about 13 minutes to really enjoy the sunrise. However, I was completely satisfied with everything else. Thank you! 🙏

Highly recommended.💯 The service was smooth and easy. We were picked up from out front hotel at Shangri-La. We took a private tour of 3 people. Went to Balagezong up until the peak. Then stay overnight opposite Meili Snow Mountain. We are lucky we are able to catch the gold sunrise from Meili Snow Mountain. Mr. Stone our driver and guide - is very helpful, providing us information about culture, history and facts. Appreciate it so much. If you are going to Shangri-La please spend time to go to Balagezong and Meili Snow Mountain. Worth every penny. 😊

Manage your expectations before booking this tour. I checked the weather forecast and knew the chances of seeing stars, the mountains and golden sunrise at Meili were slim to none. I decided to chance it and went anyway. True enough, we encountered cloud cover that hid the stars and mountains, and golden sunrise. The late morning was much better. We saw some really nice scenery. My 3am pickup is at Dukezong North Gate, but they can also pickup from the East Gate. Do be aware of the cancellation policy before booking this tour in case the weather suddenly turns bad. Sufficient toilet breaks and rest time are factored into the tour. I don't know why but the tour ended earlier than stated.
