This was seriously one of the coolest experiences of my life! I was in Florida for a work conference Mon-Wed and wanted to do something fun on Sunday. I was originally booked for Sunday afternoon, but the Salty Siren staff called me on Saturday to see if I could move to the morning tour for better weather, visibility, tide level, and overall experience. I am so glad they took the time to do this. Although it involved some crazy travel logistics to get there by 8:00 AM from another state, it was absolutely worth the limited sleep. Captain Jessica and Marissa (in-water guide & photographer) were AMAZING! There were only 5 people on our tour, which allowed for individualized attention and photo opportunities. We observed a much larger tour group doing all the wrong things, which we knew from the educational intro video we watched prior to getting on the boat. Salty Siren focuses on education and passive observation. Just float quietly near your guide, and the manatees will stay near you for a really long time. I think we spent over an hour with a mama and baby manatee, watching them feed. We even got to see the baby nursing. The water in some of the areas is a little murky right now because of an invasive algae, but you can still see the manatees well. If you just be calm and still, they come right up to you. After we interacted with the manatees, Jessica and Marissa took us to a nearby spring with much clearer water, which allowed for some fun photos for each tour participant. I would recommend this company and tour experience to anyone who is at least minimally comfortable in the water. You hang on to a pool noodle the entire time, and you only need to know how to doggy-paddle to move around...hands only, no kicking so as not to scare the manatees. I had never snorkeled before, and it was very easy to learn. At the end of our adventure, we were served our choice of coffee, hot chocolate, Manatee Mocha, etc. Then we returned to the office where we immediately got to view the photos and videos to decide if we wanted to purchase them (about $40 gets you access to all the pics and videos from your tour).

Amazing guide Eli and Boat Captain Derek guided us and found us the most amazing experience of snorkeling with a mother and calf in the spring itself. Hot Chocolate on board was a superb way to warm us up on the way back to the dock after certainly a bucket list item ticked off. Felt totally safe and secure both in and out the water. Totally recommend the private group as you get the undivided attention of both Derek and Eli, not only learning about the Manatees but about the devastating effects of the last 2 hurricanes on not just the local flaura and fauna but also on the local houses and humans, and why houses are now being built on stilts. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

The team was super nice and pleasant. in the water Jade helped to guide and ensure a good experience and on the boat the captain was good at explaining and keeping an overview. can definitely recommend this tour with Gulf Coast experience. ++ They care about animal welfare. A very friendly team, professional briefing and support. We were fully equipped with wetsuits, snorkeling gear, and towels. Our crew immediately found the perfect snorkeling spots, and we had fantastic encounters with manatees and fish. On board, we were treated to coffee and hot chocolate. We had an absolutely incredible time with Waterfront Adventures! We got to see a mama manatee with her calf. Bre was a great tour guide, very knowledged on the manatees and other wildlife in the area. She captured amazing pictures of us to buy afterward- well worth the purchase!! Priceless memories caught to cherish forever. Captain Guy was friendly and helpful, we thank you both for the amazing time! P.S. the gift shop was cute with lots of fun options for souvenirs!! This is our second time using this company for manatee snorkeling in the past few years and we’re always met with informational and great guides. Ryan & Ryan were great and made sure everyone viewed the manatees even though the water conditions weren’t the best (cloudy due to recent storms). As a nature lover I really appreciate how serious these guys take their jobs to make sure the crowd has a good time but also makes sure that everyone is respecting nature. 10/10 recommend and we’re going to take a weekend trip from NC to complete the initial dive course to become certified.


