Ease of booking. Usually able to redeem an earlier ticket at the hsr station once we arrived there. I had reserve the latest ride online thinking I can easily change at the station which I was able to do easily in the past. However, this time it was a Sunday from Zuoying to Taipei. And the station was packed! The staff said I was unable to change my reservation because reserved seats are sold out. So I guess keep that in mind if the day is a weekend or holiday. You may have to reserve the exact time online. Also checkout Klook Buy 1 get 1 promo hsr trains.★

It’s super foreigner-friendly — the 3-day pass lets you hop around on the HSR pretty much as much as you want. Just a heads-up: plan your route properly, because time flies and it’s easy to miss the true “must-go” spots if you wing it.
I used mine for a Tainan run and it was totally worth it — visited 林百貨 (Hayashi Department Store) and a bunch of other places around the city. Tainan has that chill, old-soul vibe: great food, slower pace, and so many photogenic streets to wander.★

The train is cute, just like in the pictures. It departs on time, so you should arrive early. The seats are comfortable, the staff are lovely, and there are activities to do.About
