It's very practical, but it's a bit of a loss if the railway is operating in winter. Hokkaido has beautiful scenery, but train tickets are too expensive. Using this is more cost-effective if you're visiting multiple places. However, if there's a blizzard and the railway stops, there are no refunds.

I booked a 4-day JR Pass (e-ticket) for the Sapporo-Noboribetsu area of Hokkaido through Trip.com. The booking process was very simple and easy, taking only a few minutes.
