Clive was a great guide, very helpful and knowledgeable. Followed his recommendation to take a jet boat ride at the home of jet boats, Alpine Jet. I'm glad I did, as I'm sure that I would have regretted it if I hadn't. Castle Hill was spectacular, the views from the other side of Arthur's Pass took the breath away, especially when Clive pointed out the original route of the road, across the scree slope. Otira Stagecoach Hotel was eccentric and the coffee wasn't that bad... Also glad I took the walk to Devil's Punchbowl Waterfall, although it did test my fitness levels.

A thoroughly enjoyable tour. Since you travel part of the way by train and part by car/bus, you get a fantastic and varied view of the landscape. The two short hikes were also very nice. However, it's not suitable for people who aren't very mobile, as the hike to the waterfall involves many steps.
