Mutianyu Great Wall, located in Mutianyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing, is 73 km from downtown Beijing and enjoys the reputation of "the most spectacular section of the Great Wall." Stretching 5,400 meters, it is the longest section of the Great Wall in China and one of Beijing's sixteen scenic attractions. Built in 1368 during the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty by General Xu Da under Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang on the ruins of the Northern Qi Dynasty's Great Wall, Mutianyu Great Wall represents the finest essence of the Ming Dynasty's Great Wall. This section connects Gubeikou to the east and Juyong Pass to the west, serving as a crucial military stronghold defending the capital throughout history. It features notable landmarks such as Zhenguan Tower, Dajiao Tower, and Yingfei Daoyang, with well-preserved walls that vividly showcase the ancient charm of the Great Wall, holding profound historical and cultural significance. In 1987, Mutianyu Great Wall was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 2011, it was rated as a AAAAA-level tourist attraction by the China National Tourism Administration.
