We visited in November on a weekday. Lesser crowd and the weather was perfect, sunny between 10°C & 15°C. Our tour came with a guide who got us the tickets and planned the hiking routes, covering every "tourist-must-see" parts of the mountain. The buffet lunch recommended by the guide at ¥98/pax up on the mountains is a really good deal too. Huangshan is NO JOKE. The 8km up and down the steps lasted for almost 6 hours, excluding the one-way 20mins shuttle bus ride & one-way 10mins cable car ride. At the end of the tour our legs were not cooperative anymore. Besides the breathtaking views, it was also heartbreaking to see elderly potters carrying approximately 180 catties (about 108kg!) of goods up and down the mountains. They are literally breaking their backs 😭! Some even stopped and asked passers-by for water / food. Would forming a bucket brigade or a human chain be workable?

The service was excellent and professional! I honestly didn’t realize how vast the Huangshan Scenic Area and Hongcun actually were, so booking a private van was definitely a wise decision—especially for a seamless station pickup. One of the biggest highlights was the smooth coordination: WeChat Group Coordination: The operator and driver set up a group chat well in advance. Effective Communication: Even with a language barrier, everything was easily resolved using the translation feature in WeChat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and stress-free way to explore Huangshan.

I bought a ticket, thinking I'd get an English-speaking guide. Guides are extra, and I couldn't find an audio guide, so I paid extra for each pavilion separately. But the park is magnificent: spring, cherry blossoms and magnolias in bloom, a lake with boats and ducks, the Long Corridor, pavilions and towers—everything is impressive. There are a lot of people, but it's not too overwhelming. We were there on a Friday. You can spend the whole day sipping coffee by the lake. We entered through the East Gate and exited through the North Gate. I recommend this route to everyone. The metro station is 100 meters to the right when you exit.

Wuyishan Impression Da Hong Pao was simply amazing. The setting, the lighting, costumes and dances were all very well crafted and coordinated. Truly a feast for the eyes and a wonderful ending for our time in Wuyishan


