I think that this tour is an easier (shorter, extra hours of sleep) option to see the salt lagoons and their inhabitants. It also takes you to Pakana rock formations, which are amazing. The tour starts with a decent breakfast, but get ready for cold winds. The big issue to note is that there are no toilets available along the whole way.

We really enjoyed the place; the changing colors and the sheer amount of salt surrounding it are striking. You should be prepared for a lagoon that's only 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit), making it a bit of a challenge to get in. My recommendation is to hire guides with a bit more cultural background. We got the impression several times that they were improvising, but both were very friendly throughout the tour.
