Itinerary
See the best of Rottnest Island on this full-day, all-inclusive tour of Western Australia's most beautiful island, just 19 kilometers off the coast of Perth.
Begin your day at Hillary's Boat Harbor just north of Perth, where you can explore the harbor.
You will get there on a lightning-fast ocean crossing aboard a high-speed ferry. It is recommended to arrive at Hillary's Boat Harbor at 9:00 AM for the 10:00 AM ferry departure.
On arrival on Rottnest Island, discover everything this beautiful island has to offer on a 4-hour all-inclusive fully guided train and bus tour.
The tour begins with a unique historic train ride from the main settlement up to the island's highest point - Oliver Hill. Learn all about the island's war history by visiting the Oliver Hill gun fortification and tunnels for a guided tour, before enjoying a delicious light picnic lunch.
Then continue your exploration of this beautiful A-Class reserve by coach, in air-conditioned comfort. You will visit Rottnest's must-see locations including the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, Mabel Cove and Jeannie's Lookout. Take in the amazing fauna and flora of the island, the stunning beaches, woodlands and incredible salt lakes.
Learn all about the major natural habitats found on the island, as well as about Rottnest's cultural and historical heritage, from maritime to military, and what future developments are planned for this beautiful spot.
Your day on the island finishes with a 4:00 PM return ferry, delivering you back to your starting point after a 40-minute ocean crossing back to Hillarys Boat Harbour.

Please note - The Oliver Hill Guns and Tunnels part of the Grand Island Tour is a physically demanding 45-minute tour with approximately 700 metres walking and 240+ uneven steps (equivalent to a 8-storey climb).  There are no rest stops and no backtracking once inside.

No carrying of children is permitted except for small infants in baby carriers (which allow the accompanying adult to have both hands free for the railings in the tunnels).   Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The tour takes place in enclosed tunnels  - please watch for low ceilings, uneven surfaces and other trip hazards - and follow guide instructions at all times.
