Reviews: Balestrate Olive Grove Tour: Wine and Olive Oil Tasting
Guest User2024-10-17
This was a terrific olive oil & wine tasting tour. Our guide was informative and interesting. The luncheon with olive oil & wine pairing was quaint as it involved home cooking at the grandparents home , prepared by the Nonna . This is a tour you won’t regret.
Reviews: Di Giovanna Winery Tour & 5 Wine Tasting
Guest User2023-10-01
Out back, up in the hills between Sambuca di Sicilia and Giuliana, is the finest organic winery where we experienced the best wine tasting ever. From the moment we were greeted by the English-speaking lady of the place, who was our guide, to leaving the farm a lot of good experiences richer. She started by offering us coffee, after which we were introduced to the vineyard closest to the winery. Here we were given a very detailed overview of the grapes and wines and were allowed to taste the grapes. Next, we went to the outdoor press where the hand-picked grapes are separated from stems and leaves and piped into the production facility. We have never seen such a beautiful and professional facility and were given a detailed description and even tasted the raw must. We went to the cellar and looked at the storage etc. and afterwards we were welcomed into the beautiful tasting room, where the table was already set for us. To accompany the exquisite and well-described 5 wines, we were served a very nice and rich selection of local specialities - hot and cold, bread, sausage, vegetables, cheese and their own olives and oil. All in all, a highly recommendable experience. We thank Di Giovanna for a memorable time at the winery
Reviews: The Godfather Origins of Mafia: Corleone & Visit Monreale Duomo
Guest User2024-05-10
This excursion was well worth the cost because of the personalized service received. Our tour guide, Roberto, did an excellent of driving us through the beautiful countryside of Palermo and the mountains surrounding the city of Corleone, while giving us a history of the mafia in relation to the surrounding areas. Roberto parked as close as possible to the Mafia Museum because he knew I had difficulty walking and doing steps. It was a short walk to the museum where we were welcomed by the owner of the mafia house museum and he gave us a most colorful and informative tour of the museum/house room by room. The house did not appear that big from the outside but it was quite spacious and contained many interesting rooms filled with artifacts and photos from the Corleone family that lived there in the past. Afterwards we walked to the center of the village and had lunch, then were off to see the church and village of Monreale Duomo. After viewing the church we had free time to explore the shops and village around the church and get a delicious gelato. Afterwards, Roberto took us back to Palermo. Before dropping us off at our hotel he was kind enough to show us the meeting place for our next excursion as well as good shopping areas before dropping us off at our hotel. Roberto also stopped along the way during our tour and gave us ample time take pictures of the beautiful scenery and he took pictures with us in them.
Reviews: Etna Wine and Alcantara with lunch
Guest User2024-07-18
We had the most amazing day with Andrea! Etna was spectacular and worth the pain I will felt in my legs the next day. Im not an experienced hiker and our guide was very patient with my slow ascent. The provision of hiking poles was a great help. Andrea has so much knowledge and he took the whole thing to another level with his insights. I am a plant lover and he was able to answer so many questions for me. The cave was scary but exciting. The gorge was amazing and the water invigorating to paddle in. Lunch at the Emilio Sciacca Etna winery was wonderful 😋 and the view from there was beautiful.
Reviews: Palermo Original Street Food Walking Tour by Streaty

Val was very friendly and welcoming. The tour lasted around 3 hours and ventures through the backstreets of Palermo. We left the tour feeling very full, you get more than enough food and drink and get to taste a wide variety of traditional Sicilian street food! It was delicious! Val is very passionate about what she does and is so enthusiastic. All the locals know her and are so friendly. We would definitely recommend this trip to give you a real taste of Palermo and the culture it has to offer!
