Itinerary

Undertake a physical and spiritual journey to the mystical mountaintop retreat of Montserrat on this 6-hour combination sightseeing and hiking trip.

Travel to this ancient religious site, explore the Benedictine monastery and hike amidst the scenic landscape and hidden ‘hermitages' of the Montserrat range. A guide, admission fees and a one-way funicular ride are also included.

We will visit the most impressive mountain in Catalonia. After a one hour drive to the north in a air-conditioned and comfortable van we are in the sacred Monastery of Montserrat surrounded by the majestic rocky pinnacles of the Nature Park.

The peaceful area gives rise to a large doses of adventure and mystery.

We spend the first part of the tour visiting the abbey of Montserrat, home of the famous Virgin of Montserrat, popularly known as La Moreneta. Afterwards, we reach the top of the Nature Park of Montserrat through the Sant Joan's Rack railway. Those views will leave you speechless.

To get back to the Monastery we descend discovering the paths less walked of the magnificent Montserrat and uncovering the secrets of the most impressive parts of this rock formation.

We see the sanctuary from the distance, which has been in use for almost 1.000 years for pilgrims, who have been inspired by this spectacular mountain.

Back at the Abbey we have some free time to browse amongst regional products in the local farmer's market before we head back to Barcelona.
