Reviews: 1-day tour to Connemara National Park in Ireland | Optional activities | Round-trip from Galway
Guest User2024-07-20
The entire tour begins at 9:15 AM and ends in Galway at approximately 5:30 PM, offering eight hours of sightseeing time. A three-hour stop is allocated at the main attraction, the monastery, allowing for a leisurely exploration. On the way there and back, the driver will make stops at smaller attractions and towns where you can take photos. There's a supermarket in one of the towns where you can stock up on supplies and use the restroom. The monastery itself is beautiful, with a lovely garden; however, the monastery entrance fee of €13 is not included in the tour price.

This was such a fun trip! Pick-up and drop-off were easy to navigate, and the itinerary allowed for sufficient breaks and lots of neat things to see. Having the option to pick between visiting the national park (with various trail difficulties to climb Diamond Hill) and the abbey made it a lovely choose-your-own-adventure day. If you pick the park and the longer trail, bring snacks and watch out for the wind 😊

Beautiful trip - enhanced by our great guide - full of interesting historical facts and local lore. Even brought us through a narrow pass with his huge bus, to treat us to close ups of Connemara sheep that he had trained to look up for perfect photos when he beeped the horn. Only problem as for all trips is that English is the only language. My French friends didn’t understand.
