Reviews: Chiang Rai Temple Day Trip with Lalita Cafe Visit from Chiang Mai
Guest User2026-02-26
My recent trip to Chiang Rai was an unforgettable experience! The activities were incredibly fun, and the temples, with their stunning architecture, were truly picturesque. Our guide, Andy, was a treasure trove of knowledge about Thailand's rich history, making the tour even more engaging. However, the journey had its downsides; the long drive on winding, bumpy roads was quite exhausting. Despite this, the beauty of the temples and the insights from Andy made the trip worthwhile. Overall, it was a memorable adventure, blending culture and fun, even with a few bumps along the way!

The trip is as described. I enjoyed the whole experience and there was plenty of time for sightseeing and taking photos although you will spend a lot of time in the van. Tiring but wonderful.
Reviews: Chiang Rai White Temple, Black House, Blue Temple + Golden Triangle Day Tour with Hotel Transfer|Meals included|Classic Three Temples

There are quite a few excursions to Chiang Rai, and they all have similar descriptions. Specifically, here you'll visit the hot springs, a village, the White and Blue Temples, the Black House, and the Golden Triangle. Keep in mind that the return journey from the Golden Triangle to Chiang Mai takes four hours, and we didn't arrive at the hotel until around 9 p.m. Keep this in mind when planning. I didn't really like the Black House—it looks like an exhibition by an artist who loves phalluses and dead animals. However, there are cats with colorful collars there. If such a long and exhausting excursion isn't for you, I'd recommend simply visiting three temples—the White, Blue, and Red. The Longneck Village is very strange and uncomfortable. That's regarding the route. As for the organization, everything is fine; we've been to this guide before, but! The lunch was completely inedible; everything was either spicy or deep-fried. It was a buffet near the White Temple. It would be nice if the organization changed the location of the lunch.

As an international tour group, I was forced to practice my English listening skills for almost four hours. The night view was beautiful, and the half-day tour wasn't tiring.

An excellent tour with Nuttaya, who is a passionate and knowledgeable guide who speaks excellent English. The visit to the three temples and the Three Kings Monument was comprehensive and very informative. We had already visited these three temples on our own, but we learned a great deal about both the sites themselves and Buddhist culture. Go for it! After a month in Thailand, we discovered this rich and tradition-filled culture with fresh eyes. Truly excellent!
