I recently took a walking tour in Varanasi, and I’m so glad I did. My guide, Akash, was a genuinely nice and cheerful person who made the experience memorable. The highlight for me was navigating the famous Banarasi galis (narrow lanes). Honestly, as a solo traveler, I would never have explored these complex mazes on my own! He took us to all five specific spots promised in the itinerary, but the real treat was the lesser-known spots that he showed us, like the Manikarneswar Temple, which we would have missed otherwise. Akash is very knowledgeable & explained the history of these places in great detail. The only minor thing is that his walking pace can get a bit fast at times, so you might need to ask him to slow down occasionally. Nonetheless, I met some wonderful people in the group which made the walk even more enjoyable… so if you’re in Varanasi, do take this walking tour!★

A quality walk around Varanasi's main sights. Cremation rituals were explained in detail right on site, and it was exactly what I expected from the tour. All the rest was a bonus. I was not interested in temples, but you'll visit several of them. The group was only 4 people, which was perfect. Can recommend.★
