the waterfall is super cool and definitely worth your time. yes there are cranes but it’s so pretty. definitely do a boat across the river, we did the rock tour one where you climb the middle and it was amazing i definitely reccomend

The boat ride was excellent and it was like being at a mini Niagara Falls. The boat ride was worth the extra 10 francs. Beautiful little town of 3k residents was like out of a fairy book. Rolf, our tour guide, was funny which made the bus ride more enjoyable. He was well informed and we learned a lot about Switzerland.

The views of the waterfall was amazing. And learning the history of Schlossberg was very intriguing and having to go into Germany to get to the other side of Schlossberg was interesting.

In addition to scenic trains (such as the Glacier Express), you can also take other regional trains anytime, anywhere. It includes access to 500+ museums, and admission to the Gruyere Cheese Museum and Cailler Chocolate Museum in Gruyere is also free.

Definitely recommended if your Switzerland trip is a couple of weeks as train travel is the way to go over there. It’s so convenient purchasing it at Trip.com and the tickets are emailed almost immediately. Be sure to print it out or keep it in your phone as conductors do check your half fare card almost every time. Note that you can purchase attractions like the gornergrat train and the first gondola at half off too.


