Get ready for a truly unique river adventure as we ride car inner tubes through the foaming rapids of Köngäskoski on the Ounasjoki River. This wild and scenic river is Europe's longest free-flowing river, winding through pristine Lapland wilderness — the perfect setting for an unforgettable adrenaline experience.
Your adventure begins in Levi, where we meet and travel by car to Köngäskoski — a short and scenic drive of about 10 minutes.
Before entering the water, we gear up with proper equipment for rapid floating, including wetsuits, life vests, and helmets. You'll also use swim fins to steer and control the inner tube in the water. After a safety briefing and practice upstream, it's time to head into the rapids.
Floating the rapids feels almost like swimming in the powerful current — but the car tire keeps you safely on the surface, while the fins allow you to guide your direction. The guide goes first, and guests follow one by one into the thrilling, white-water section of Köngäskoski.
We'll run the rapids twice, fully enjoying the rush, splashes, and laughter as the clear river water carries us downstream. Between runs, we land on a calm sandy riverbank below the rapids, where we take a short break to enjoy a snack and drink, relax, and catch our breath before heading back for another exciting descent.
By the end of the adventure, your heart will be racing, your body refreshed, and your mind filled with the joy of conquering Lapland's wild river — an experience you won't forget.
Suitable for participants aged 12 and above. Swimming skills required.
