We really enjoyed our day with Pedro, who was an excellent guide. Great trip which combined three different aspects of the island: the amazing coastal views, a small forest park for the picnic and an afternoon swim. We had plenty of time to enjoy each part without any rush★

He drove me around the island discussing history, geology, and everything else. We altered the route based on cloud cover, my preferences and timing to avoid a crowd at cave. We spent as long as I wanted overlooks, churches, etc. Stopped at request for pictures. local restaurant for lunch. I had an amazing long day, then dropped me off at my dinner reservation (Fumereiro de Sao Joao is amazing).★
