Embark on a guided hike along Via Transylvanica, starting from Piața Unirii, in the heart of Brașov's old Romanian district. This route blends nature, history, and authentic local culture into one accessible adventure.
We begin at the Via Transylvanica trail marker, then follow the forested path toward the panoramic Belvedere viewpoint, where Brașov opens beneath you—its medieval fortifications, Black Church, old Romanian district, and the saddle between the surrounding mountains.
Along the way, your guide shares legends, historical insights, and stories about the Romanian community that shaped this part of the city—from medieval origins to modern transformations. You'll discover how people lived, worked, defended the valley, and preserved their unique identity over centuries.
From Belvedere, the trail continues to Poiana Mică, a quiet clearing where mountain landscapes and forest silence create the perfect break. From here, we descend on Drumul Vechi (“the Old Road”), once used by locals traveling between Brașov and Poiana.
At the end of the trail, we take a short public bus ride back to Piața Unirii, completing a circular journey through nature, culture, and living history.
This tour is ideal for travelers seeking more than a simple hike—perfect for those who want authentic stories, local legends, hidden details, and a deeper understanding of Brașov's unique community while enjoying a moderate, scenic route.
