Gareth is very attentive, helpful and is truly committed to making his tours a great experience. He’s passionate about Welsh history and culture and wants to impart that to his tour guests. You will learn a lot which helps to enhance your experience in Wales. I took the Welsh Valleys tour as a solo traveler, and Gareth went out of his way to accommodate me and make the tour a comfortable and easy experience. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the Wye Valley, and Gareth took us to all the gorgeous sites in the area—Monnow Bridge, Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle, Castell Coch and Caerphilly Castle. All stunning Welsh sites, and Gareth gives history and background about them all. There is time to stop for snacks, lunch and bathroom breaks, and Gareth gives recommendations in each area. There is a lot of walking on this tour, so be mindful that there may be mud or rain along the way, but it’s so worth it to see these incredible sites. Gareth makes it enjoyable and easy, and for the price (which is unbelievably reasonable), it’s worth every cent. Take a tour with The Wandering Bard tours, especially as a solo traveler (you will be looked after). You will not regret it!★

We had an absolutely wonderful day on the Cardiff: Welsh Castles, Mountains & Steam Train Day Tour! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. The itinerary was well-balanced, giving us enough time to enjoy the stunning Welsh castles, the beautiful mountain scenery, and the highlight — the nostalgic ride on the historic steam train. It felt like a perfect mix of history, nature, and classic railway charm. Our tour guide was excellent — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing Welsh history and stories. They made the whole experience so engaging and memorable. The driver was also professional, safe, and always on time, which made the journey very comfortable. We especially appreciated how smoothly the day ran, with clear communication and thoughtful pacing. It was a truly enjoyable and unforgettable adventure in Wales. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cardiff! Thank you to the entire team for such a fantastic day!★
