We were picked up from our hotel directly and promptly (a little sign with our name). Masaru our driver was fantastic, safe and has excellent English. Where we struggled he has an app for translation. He was kind, clear and patient. There is a fair amount of 'in car' time with many of the sights being an hour away from Sapporo. The car itself was comfortable. We enjoyed seeing the nature, blossoms and all the geothermal and volcanic sights. Masaru gave us additional options when we were ahead of schedule and sat with us on Lake Toya for a fantastic local lunch, translating for us. The highlights of the tour were Hell Valley and Lake Toya which are beautiful and dramatic. As a final gift finding out we were expecting as is Masaru's wife he stopped off at a famous Shinto temple to buy us a talisman for good luck and a safe delivery. My wife cried at such a kind and human gesture!
We had fantastic weather for the tour but I can imagine this would not be as enjoyable on a day with worse weather due to the driving and sites being all outdoors.★

Thao Island was humorous and engaging, and the itinerary was well-planned. This time we parted ways in Noboribetsu, but I'd love to experience the whole tour again next time.★

It was all very good! I just wish we could have stayed a little longer at certain stops, and most importantly, THERE HAS TO BE A BATHROOM ON THE BUS!!!!
