Winter days are short and the day gets dark early, so the itinerary was quite rushed. We arrived in Hakone in the morning and didn't get to visit the art museum. We rushed to Lake Yamanaka around 3 PM to take photos of Mount Fuji with its backlighting. The driver was a Chinese woman who had lived in Japan for over 20 years. She drove steadily and chatted with us the whole way, which was very nice. It was a small group of 9 people, but that day it was just our family of 4, which was great. 👍

Our tour guide, Kiki, was incredibly thoughtful! She could switch fluently between Chinese and English, ensuring that every tourist could understand her explanations. She would also proactively share useful tips, such as the best spots for taking photos. For someone like me who doesn't drive, having a direct bus was so convenient; I didn't have to worry about transportation at all!

Despite the unpleasant weather, I still managed to see Mount Fuji! 🗻 I think it was great value for money. It's impossible to see so many places in one day on your own. I think it was really worth it. I'd love to join a group tour to other places next time. The tour guide was also excellent, very attentive and detailed, and spoke both English and Chinese very well. I think the day trip was definitely worth it!

The service was incredibly responsive throughout. I inquired months in advance, and the staff were all very friendly. Our guide, Mr. Long, was also fantastic! His service was absolutely amazing – a superb smile! His driving skills were top-notch, he was very punctual, and we chatted and laughed the whole way. He even recommended some attractions and good restaurants! He was also very thoughtful (providing directions to restrooms, dining options, etc.). The weather was perfect too! Absolutely amazing! They also have tours to Izu!! And this year's mild winter meant the cherry blossoms in Izu bloomed a few days ago! Everyone, go for it!!! Contact the shop and make your plans now!!! Be sure to wear sunscreen, as the sun is incredibly strong!!

Upon arriving in Japan, I hastily decided to join a small tour group on Wednesday. I wanted to visit both an outlet mall and Mount Fuji, and after much deliberation, I chose this tour. The meeting point was the Washington Hotel, not far from my accommodation in Shinjuku. The driver was incredibly friendly and patiently explained the sights we encountered along the way. The outlet mall was huge; two hours might not have been enough. However, you can't have your cake and eat it too, so I couldn't skip Mount Fuji. The view of Mount Fuji from the outlet mall was absolutely perfect. In the afternoon, we also visited the Golden Torii Gate, Lake Yamanaka, and Lake Kawaguchi. We fed the geese, bought some limited-edition Mount Fuji items, and even visited a Lawson convenience store. The whole trip was surprisingly relaxing, making it especially suitable for families with elderly members.

The day before departure, the tour guide would frantically call everyone on their phone, adding their contact information and creating a group chat to emphasize precautions and potential departure points. The next day, we boarded the bus on time and were divided into groups for roll call. Our lead tour guide was named Dani, and she had an assistant. They spoke a mix of Chinese and English, with 44 people on board. Dani explained the attractions and itineraries in both English and Chinese, communicating with the driver in Japanese along the way. Overall, she was incredibly responsible, busying herself with ticket purchases, arrangements, and helping guests find lost property. Because the tour covered several locations and traffic jams were common, it was essentially a whirlwind tour. Drop-off times at each location ranged from 10 to 45 minutes, so getting back on time wouldn't delay the rest of the trip, but it was still a tight schedule. Souvenir shopping meant no time to queue for photos, which meant no time to use the restroom, which meant no time to grab a snack. It was a trade-off. Mount Fuji is quite delicate; in bad weather, you can't see anything. All it took was a three- or four-hundred-yuan day of driving and sightseeing, and that was enough to make your back ache. My advice is to check the weather forecast, avoid weekends, and be prepared for a tough time. Don't lose anything, take some cash, a pillow, and a positive attitude. And drink less water. Life, after all, is so bitter. 🥲
