Important information for travelers
- Chinese mainland citizens can only purchase and enter using their ID card. Residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions of China can only use a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, or Residence Permit for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Residents - passports cannot be used for booking! Other nationalities can make reservations using a passport or PRC Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card.
Kid's meal package description
- The child package for this product is applicable to Chinese citizens under 18 years old (including residents of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan). Foreign children are not eligible for the Palace Museum's preferential policies. If your child holds a foreign passport, please book as an adult. If booked as a child, an additional fee of CNY 20 per person for the admission ticket will be required after successful ticketing. Please be aware!
Admission ticket verification time for the Forbidden City
- Starting from November 1, 2023, the Forbidden City will implement timed entry visits. Please plan your schedule in advance.
- Morning session audience time is 12:00 PM on the same day.
- The earliest check-in time for the afternoon session audience is 11:00 AM on the same day.
- Off-peak season (Nov 1–Mar 31) last admission time: 3:30 PM
- Peak season (Apr 1-Oct 31) last admission time: 4:00 PM.
Schedule notice for cancellation/refund processing time
- For bookings where a refund is requested between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM from April to October and during all public holidays, the refund will be processed after 11:00 PM and completed within 24 hours. For all other times, refunds will be processed within 1 hour. Please consider this before booking.
