Shenzhen Shekou Port – Hong Kong Airport SkyPier, one-way boat ticket direct service with baggage check-through

[Important Notice] Notification Regarding the Change in Duration for Shenzhen Shekou to Hong Kong Airport Round-Trip Routes: According to the ferry company's notice, starting from November 15, 2025, the operating time for the Shenzhen Shekou-Hong Kong Airport route will be adjusted to 40 minutes.

Note: Passengers departing from Shenzhen Shekou Cruise Home Port to Hong Kong International Airport must have a confirmed flight booking from Hong Kong International Airport, and the primary operating airline of the selected flight must participate in the SkyPier transfer service (refer to the table below).

1. Booking Information

(1) Scope of Use

1. This service is exclusively for passengers who have booked flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport with the primary operating airline participating in the SkyPier intermodal service and requiring cross-border transfers. It does not apply to passengers needing to enter Hong Kong city or access non-restricted areas of Hong Kong International Airport.

2. Applicable only to passengers transiting through Hong Kong International Airport to a third country (region). Not applicable to passengers with destinations in mainland China.

3. Not applicable to passengers holding standby flight tickets, unaccompanied minors requiring airline approval, or stretcher passengers. Pregnant women and passengers with limited mobility must apply in advance with the airline and present approved documentation.

4. According to relevant regulations, mainland residents transiting through Taiwan to a third country/region can only transfer via Taipei Taoyuan Airport from the three designated cities: Chongqing, Nanchang, or Kunming.

(II) Booking Conditions

1. Passengers must hold a valid flight ticket from Hong Kong International Airport with a confirmed flight, where the ticket date matches the boat ticket date or is valid until 3:00 AM the following day.

2. When booking boat tickets, passengers must verify the flight number and personal information for their journey themselves.

3. Passengers must allow sufficient transfer time to meet connection requirements. The minimum transfer time is from the arrival time of the selected ferry at the Hong Kong International Airport SkyPier to the flight ticket departure time. The minimum transfer time requirements are as follows:

(1) For flights with airlines that offer pre-check-in services and where check-in and boarding procedures have been completed at the port, the cross-border transfer connection time must be at least 80 minutes (note: some airlines may still require 110 minutes).

(2) For flights booked with airlines that provide pre-check-in services but fail to complete check-in procedures at the port, as well as flights booked with airlines that do not offer pre-check-in services, the cross-border transfer connection time must be at least 110 minutes (note that some airlines still require 120 minutes).

4. For flight tickets with a departure time of 13:15 or earlier from Hong Kong International Airport, passengers can book the last ferry service the day before to the SkyPier at Hong Kong International Airport (only applicable to select airlines operating morning flights). Please note that passengers are only permitted to wait in the departure area of Hong Kong International Airport and cannot access hotels outside the airport's restricted zone.

5. If the passenger's booked flight is a codeshare flight, the passenger should verify whether the primary operating carrier of the booked flight participates in the SkyPier service. When booking boat tickets, the flight number of the primary operating carrier must be correctly entered. If the primary operating carrier of the booked codeshare flight is not listed among the SkyPier participating airlines, boat tickets for the Hong Kong Airport route cannot be booked.

6. Passengers must ensure they possess the required travel documents and entry supporting materials for the destination country, including but not limited to passport, required visas for both destination and transit locations, return or onward flight ticket, and other supporting documents that meet the destination's entry requirements.

7. Passengers of certain nationalities transiting through Hong Kong International Airport may need to obtain a Hong Kong transit visa issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department in advance.

8. If passengers are unable to depart from Hong Kong International Airport due to failure to meet any of the above requirements or other personal reasons, they will be returned to their place of origin in accordance with relevant regulations. Passengers shall bear the cost of boat tickets and other related expenses for returning to mainland China.

II. Boarding Instructions

(1) Procedures:

1. Passengers are advised to check in at the Hong Kong Airport Check-in Counter on the second floor of Shekou Cruise Home Port at least 60 minutes before the scheduled boat ticket time. The check-in counter service hours are from 6:00 to 21:00.

2. Check-in and baggage drop services will cease 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the ferry, and boarding will stop 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

3. If passengers fail to complete check-in and boarding procedures before the specified time above, it may result in insufficient cross-border transfer time and delay the journey. All losses incurred due to this shall be borne by the passengers themselves.

(2) Luggage Check-in

1. Passengers with standard cabin boat tickets can check in 1 piece of luggage for free, with a maximum weight of 30kg and dimensions not exceeding 158cm (length + width + height). Passengers with first-class cabin boat tickets can check in 2 pieces of luggage for free, each with a maximum weight of 30kg and dimensions not exceeding 158cm (length + width + height).

2. For each piece of baggage exceeding the free allowance, a fee of CNY 30 will be charged. An additional CNY 30 will be charged for each piece weighing over 30 kg but under 32 kg, or under 30 kg with dimensions exceeding 158 cm (length + width + height).

3. The excess baggage charges for the Hong Kong Airport ferry route are for high-speed ferry baggage handling fees and do not include the overweight baggage fees charged by airlines for checked luggage.

4. Please strictly adhere to the checked baggage allowance and airline requirements when packing your luggage to avoid travel delays. Except for Cathay Pacific, which can collect excess baggage fees for flights at the Shekou Cruise Home Port, other airlines currently cannot process such payments at the port. If your luggage is overweight, oversized, or exceeds the piece limit, you must pay the fees at the airline check-in counters in the SkyPier terminal of Hong Kong International Airport.

(3) Health Declaration

Effective from 00:00 on November 1, 2023, inbound and outbound travelers are exempt from filling out the "People's Republic of China Health Declaration Form." However, travelers exhibiting infectious disease symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, or unexplained subcutaneous bleeding, or those already diagnosed with infectious diseases, must proactively declare their health status to customs and cooperate with customs in conducting temperature checks, epidemiological investigations, medical screenings, and sample testing as part of health quarantine measures.

(4) Tax Refund for Departing Tourists

Passengers who have paid the departure tax will receive a tax refund voucher upon check-in; after undergoing security checks at the Hong Kong International Airport SkyPier, passengers can present the refund voucher at the "Departure Tax Refund Counter" on the same day to receive up to HKD 200 in Air Passenger Departure Tax (the exact amount is based on the prepaid Hong Kong Air Passenger Departure Tax in the flight ticket, unless the ticket has been exempted from the tax in advance). If not claimed in time, passengers must contact the airline directly.
