Great bicycle tour of Amsterdam! covering alot of distance! -Started at a semi remote location downtown, their bike shop is south east of central station, in a area around the docks. Its at the back side of the large building, and one of the only stores back there. -Met on time, and the bikes were outside the store, we were told to pick on that is our size. Helmets are optional. only 2 ladies from the USA wore helmets. -The group was about 15-20 people, a semi large group, but not unmanageable. we biked from the shop out to the front of the building to the docks for a briefing about the tour. The guide also asked for a volunteer to be a "sweeper" a person at the back of the group that makes sure no one is left behind. If the sweeper shows up then it means the whole group is there, and she continues. I already played sweeper just biking from the shop, helping another lady her first time on a bike, so i volunteered for that and stayed at the back of the group when biking. -We covered alot of distance, going all around the city, from the Jewish quarter to the Rijksmuseum, to anne frank factory hiding place. We stopped a few spots to get off and talk or do something. The bikeing was easy, hardest part was the cannal bridges because the bikes only had 3 gears, some people had trouble. Saw lots of the city. -There was lots of traffic and pedestrians, it was the weekend the "Sail" festival was on, so there was extra amount of people in amsterdam. We had no issue, and even with traffic lights our group was never really seperated, we managed to get through the lights as a group. There was only one part at the very end, the last strech to get back to the bike shop, we had to cross the main downtown infront of central station and over to the bike shop which was where the sail festival was too, and there was so many people our group was like a drop of water into a river of bicycles, but we all made it through. -There was one interesting event, I was sweeper, and near the end as i was bikeing at the back of the group, i saw a pedal on the ground and a second later i saw one of our group stopping with no pedal on his bike. As a experinced daily biker and the sweeper of the group, me and 1 other person stopped to help him. I ended up giving him my bike, and i took the broken one, and i biked back to the shop with it biking like a skateboard, with one leg, still keeping up to the others speeds though. Because i was sweeper, when the guide saw i was no longer following them, she stopped and came back to look for us (she told us if there was a problem or lost, just stop and she will come back), and she led us back to the group around the corner. -The guide was great, she was friendly, spoke loud and clear, she was always watching the group, would answer any questions. At the end, she gave out stickers that said "i survived Amsterdam bike tour", and as the sweeper i got a small bicycle key chain. Overall, a great bike tour of Amsterdam! i loved it

Brilliant! Martina was great during the entire visit. Showing me the art and telling stories behind each piece. She is really knowledgeable and a great storyteller. I really enjoyed the whole two hours!
