The food on the ship was delicious, and the captain shared some interesting information. The jazz band was a great addition to the trip.

It’s a fun relaxing trip. We did the standard admission with the options to purchase drinks or food if we wanted. The first half is mostly informative narration and on the way back it is a live band playing. You can sit anywhere and walk around as you please. The only issue we had was that the register on board lost service so if you didn’t have cash you couldn’t buy any drinks of food with card so we had to go almost half the trip without getting anything. Lastly Don’t get there early unless you have ear plugs! Before they start boarding they let you get into a line to take for a photo op as you wait to actually board they play some song on repeat for about 20-30 minutes on the loudest speakers ever made you can hear the show tunes from bourbon street so just imaging close up how loud it gets hence bring some ear plugs.

The dinner buffet was so good. I really enjoyed the creole pasta. Perfect sun setting excursion on Mississippi River. I just wish they got us out of the sweltering heat faster and aboard.
Reviews: New Orleans: Sunday Steamboat Jazz Cruise + Optional Brunch

We really enjoyed it. We did think it needed minor improvements. There was no band on the way in (as per the description), we didn’t expect brunch to be so early. It could have been done on the 2nd leg as we were still eating when the guide was talking and it wasn’t very clear in the restaurant area. We only caught the end of the band after we ate, had a tour of the boat then sat down to listen to the music. It was fun, just needs a bit of tweaking to make it 5 stars.
Reviews: New Orleans: City Tour & Steamboat Daytime Jazz Cruise Combo
Guest User2026-01-17
Unfortunately, the boat tour mostly took us through the harbor area, which was probably due to time constraints. However, the bus tour was much better. The guide (Harris) was relaxed and showed us interesting things in the city (cemeteries, architecture, museums, etc.) and provided a lot of information. I highly recommend it. A lovely tour.

We enjoyed the history of the buildings and the jokes scattered within. I’ve already recommended this tour to people I know.
