Morning: Hotel Pick-up and Destination Discussion
Our professional and courteous driver will meet you at your hotel in Beijing right on time as scheduled. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and welcomed into a clean, comfortable vehicle. Once you're settled in, the driver will have a brief chat with you about your preferences for the day. You'll have two options: either just visit the Badaling Great Wall or upgrade your trip to also include a visit to the Dingling Mausoleum.
Option 1: Badaling Great Wall Only
- Badaling Great Wall Introduction:
- Badaling is one of the most famous and well-preserved sections of the Great Wall of China. It was built during the Ming Dynasty and holds significant historical and strategic importance. The wall here is wide and sturdy, with numerous watchtowers spaced along it. Standing on the wall, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. In different seasons, it presents a unique charm. In spring, wildflowers bloom along its sides; in summer, the greenery makes it a refreshing sight; in autumn, the foliage turns into vibrant colors, creating a picturesque scene; and in winter, when covered with snow, it looks like a magnificent white dragon winding through the mountains.
- Arrival and Exploration:
- The driver will take you smoothly to the Badaling Great Wall. Once there, you can choose how you want to explore. You might decide to hike along the wall, feeling the ancient stones beneath your feet and experiencing the grandeur of this remarkable structure up close. Or, if you prefer a more convenient way, you can take a cable car to reach higher sections and enjoy the views from above. There are also souvenir shops and small cafes where you can take a break, buy some mementos, or grab a snack and a drink during your visit.
Option 2: Badaling Great Wall and Dingling Mausoleum
- Badaling Great Wall Experience (Same as Above):
- First, the driver will take you to the Badaling Great Wall, and you can enjoy all the activities and soak in the magnificent views just like in Option 1. Spend a good amount of time exploring the wall, taking pictures, and making memories against this iconic backdrop.
- Transfer to Dingling Mausoleum:
- After a fulfilling visit to the Badaling Great Wall, our driver will then drive you to the Dingling Mausoleum. During the journey, you can relax and enjoy the scenery outside the window, perhaps getting a glimpse of the local countryside or other interesting sights.
- Dingling Mausoleum Introduction:
- Dingling is part of the Ming Tombs, which served as the final resting places for 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Dingling is particularly famous for its underground palace that was unearthed in modern times. The mausoleum showcases remarkable ancient Chinese architecture and cultural traditions. The underground chambers are filled with intricate stone carvings on the walls and carefully arranged burial spaces, giving us a peek into the funerary customs and grandeur of the imperial era.
- Explore Dingling Mausoleum:
- When you arrive at the Dingling Mausoleum, you can enter the site and start your exploration. Walk around the above-ground structures first, admiring the architecture and the solemn atmosphere. Then, descend into the underground palace to marvel at the detailed carvings and the historical significance of the burial area. It's truly a fascinating place that allows you to step back in time and understand the past.
Evening: Return to Hotel
After you've completed your chosen itinerary,our driver will take you back to your hotel in Beijing. You can relax during the ride, reflecting on the wonderful experiences and beautiful sights you've encountered throughout the day.
