Other than it being a little confusing to get to (through the parking lot and press the button to get in,) it was lots of fun! I had a drink, wandered the floors, and watched the boats at the waterfront.

Wētā Workshop Unleashed Tour in Auckland was truly an unforgettable adventure! From the moment I stepped into the workshop, I was captivated by the incredible artistry and attention to detail that goes into creating the props, costumes and special effects. A big highlight of the tour was our guide, Thomas. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but his sense of humour added a whole new layer to the experience. He had us laughing at just the right moments, while also providing us with fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the films and the work that goes into making the magic happen. It was clear that he genuinely enjoyed sharing his passion for the craft and his witty remarks made the tour feel relaxed and fun. Thomas was also great at answering all our questions, adding a personal touch to the experience, which made it feel like a private, tailored tour. The hands-on exhibits were fantastic and I loved getting the chance to interact with some of the displays. It was incredible to see how intricate and labour-intensive the work is and how passionate the team at Wētā is about their craft. If you're in Auckland, this tour is an absolute must for anyone who loves film, special effects, or simply appreciates amazing craftsmanship. I left with a new level of admiration for the magic that happens behind the scenes in filmmaking. Huge thanks to Thomas for making this experience even more memorable with his humour and engaging personality!

Well organised and a fun day out. Unfortunately we didn't see any whales. We did see a pod of dolphins at the start of the journey but not much else. They were kind enough to offer us vouchers to use again, but we're fully booked out when we tried to use them a few days later. It was a wonderful day out on the boat and the crew were great. It just so happened that we were not lucky enough to see any whales.

Excellent, lively and knowledgeable driver cum guide Bunty who not only shared immensely useful Information but kept us entertained through his anecdotes and engaging conversations. Went out of the way to give us unique experience of visiting the swinging bridge and accommodated a request to visit a friend to say hello and yet kept the time. Given the start was very early, he ensured that we have brief stop for coffee and snack before heading out to first of the two engagements for the day. This itself made the visit memorable additional to visit to glow worm caves and visit to Geysers and sumptuous lunch. Overall a fantastic trip…Kudos to FlexiToursNZ who kept their words of keeping the vehicle suited for small group with comfortable seats.


