Day 1
Meet at meeting point: Metekhi church of the Nativity of the Mother of God The tour guide will meet you just beside the statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali at Metekhi Church (Just beside Europe Square)Attractions and Activities: Narikala Castle (Ticket included) The tour begins by visiting Narikala fortress, where we will take the cable car and move up to the fortress and enjoy with its amazing architecture and historical sites. According the history the structure was established in the 4th century as a Sasanian citadel called Shuris-tsikhe ( "Invidious Fort"). It was considerably expanded by the Umayyads in the 7th century and later, by king David the Builder (1089–1125). The Mongols renamed it "Narin Qala" (i.e., "Little Fortress"). Most of extant fortifications date from the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1827, parts of the fortress were damaged by an earthquake and demolished. Guests can walk around the castle. From Narikala Fortress you can see two extremely different views. On the one side of the wall you can see a busy, hestic city and on the other side a quiet, peaceful forest known as the Botanical Garden. 20 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Kartlis Deda (Free entry) The statue was erected on the top of Sololaki hill in 1958.In 1958 Tbilisi celebrated its 1500th anniversary. Prominent Georgian sculptor Elguja Amashukeli designed the twenty-metre aluminium figure of a woman in Georgian national dress. She symbolizes the Georgian national character: in her left hand she holds a bowl of wine to greet those who come as friends, and in her right hand is a sword for those who come as enemies. 10 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Abanotubani (Free entry) From Narikala fortress we will walk down to Abanotubani. According to legend, this place became the reason for the founding of Tbilisi in the 5th century AD. Sulfur water flows naturally from the soil in the Abanotubani area and supplies about 3,000,000 liters of water daily and its average temperature is 47 °. 20 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Ущелье Легвтахеви (Free entry) Right in the middle of the capital you can enjoy by the beauty of Leghvtakhevi Waterfall. By the way you can escape hot weather in summer and enjoy by the coolness. A beautiful gorge located within old town, that is very accessible to visitors, excellent pathways crossing Tbilisi's lock bridge, small but perfectly formed, innercity waterfall. 10 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Shardeni Street (Free entry) After the waterfall we will take the road to Chardin street, the most colorful and favorite street in Tbilisi. Named in honor of Jean Chardin, a French traveler, who traveled to Georgia in the 18th century and returned to his native land with great fascination. Attractions and Activities: Zion Cathedral of the Dormition of Tbilisi (Ticket included) One of the holiest places in Georgia. The first church was built here in the 5th century by the order of Vakhtang Gorgasali. Attractions and Activities: Bridge of Peace (Free entry) Beautiful walking glass bridge, which is on the list of 10 most beautiful bridges. A sightseeing spot you must not miss, the Peace Bridge was officially opened in 2010. It is 156 meters long and consists of 10,000 lamps. 20 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Metekhi church of the Nativity of the Mother of God (Free entry) Through Rike Park we will visit the St. Mary's Cathedral of Metekhi, located on the left bank of the river Mtkvari. According to the legend, the remains of St. Shushanik can be found here.
