This was a fantastic day trip with Gogoday! We departed from Hakata Station at 8 AM and arrived back at 6 PM. There was a rest stop at a highway service area. The itinerary included three attractions, and the time allotted was ample, allowing plenty of time to explore each one. Lunch was at Ama-Iwato Shrine, but time was a bit tight, so you could buy food at a nearby supermarket or beforehand at a Lawson convenience store near Hakata Station or at the highway service area. Finally, you could browse souvenir shops at Takachiho Gorge. The tour group consisted of both Chinese and Korean participants. Our guide, Mr. Zheng, first introduced the tour in Chinese and then in Korean. He was very kind and humorous, and there was absolutely no hard selling. He even gave us souvenirs! Thank you! 🙏

Taking the "Exploring the Hidden Gems of Kyushu" day tour booked through Ctrip was definitely worthwhile. The scenery along the way was breathtaking, with ancient charm blending seamlessly with nature, captivating the heart and leaving a lasting impression. Our guide, Li Xiangrong, possessed a deep understanding of the local culture, providing detailed and insightful explanations. She also switched fluently between Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, ensuring a pleasant travel experience for us.
Reviews: [Lunch Included, Optional Boat Ticket] Japan Kyushu Takachiho Gorge + Kumamoto Aso Volcano Kusasenri Day Trip

The itinerary was excellent and well-planned. The weather was perfect that day, allowing for close-up views of the crater. The scenery was beautiful, and the pace was relaxed and enjoyable. The tour guide spoke excellent Japanese, provided thorough explanations, and avoided being verbose or pushy. The beef set meal at the Chinese restaurant was also very good. This day trip is highly recommended. However, getting into Aso on your own is quite challenging, as it involves driving for over an hour through the mountains.
Reviews: Kyushu Hidden Gems 1-day Tour: Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine + Mount Aso + Kusasenri + Kurokawa Onsen

On the second day of the New Year, I took a day trip and was incredibly lucky to see snow. We were also very fortunate that the crater was open and the mountain roads along the Kurokawa River were safe to drive on! The day was packed; we left at 8 am and arrived at 6 pm. We checked out the location first, and will explore it more thoroughly on our next road trip! Our guide, Mr. Sun, was very friendly, funny, and witty. He shared many interesting stories about life in Japan and recommended delicious food in Kumamoto. Highly recommended! (՞ਊ՞)👍
Reviews: Kumamoto Castle & Aso Crater Exploration, Kusasenri Horseback Riding, Depart from Fukuoka/Kumamoto

The meeting point was right by the Starbucks at the east-shiroku exit of Hakata Station, and we departed right on time. Some tourists overslept and didn't even wait. They were very punctual. The bus was in excellent condition, with plenty of air conditioning. The guide was very welcoming. Kumamoto Castle and Mount Aso were both great. Despite the heat, Kumamoto Castle was worth visiting; it's air-conditioned and offers a panoramic view from above. There were also many delicious dishes on the first floor. The horse meat fried cakes were delicious, and the limited-edition watermelon soda was very quenching. Due to Mount Aso's active season, we couldn't get the bus to our nearest viewing location, which was a shame. The ice cream on the mountain was delicious and worth trying. The set lunch menu was also good, though a bit pricey up there. The air was nice, and walking on the grass was much cooler than at the foot of the mountain.
Reviews: 1-day tour to Fukuoka's hidden shrine, Aso Volcano, Kusasenri, and Kurokawa Onsen|Kumamoto round-trip
Guest User2025-11-17
The tour costs 270 yuan per person; consider it just transportation. It visits four places. Kurokawa Onsen and the volcano are quite far and you definitely can't plan them yourself. The bus ride is like a rest stop; you can start exploring as soon as you land. The tour guide will also provide commentary, and their Northeastern accent is very welcoming. Seeing the volcano is a bonus; not seeing it is a real shame—it's quite a matter of luck. The shrine visit is a little rushed; you need to calm down and climb up to truly immerse yourself in the experience.
