Reviews: Leisure-only tour|1-day tour in Quanzhou, Fujian with guide commentary: intangible cultural heritage performance + Kaiyuan Temple + lunch
Guest User2026-02-06
Overall, the itinerary was good. Meeting time was 9:30 AM and dismissal time was 4:00 PM. The schedule was relaxed and not rushed, focusing on classic attractions. Lunch was delicious, and I bought a ticket with a puppet show, which I felt was a great deal.
Reviews: Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple in-depth guide [Red Talk, featuring locals sharing hometown stories]
Guest User2026-02-15
Let me first share my feelings. This guided tour was truly a perfect experience. I'm so grateful to Teacher DouDou for her wonderful explanation. She talked for almost two hours straight without even drinking water, and she answered every question. She explained the history of Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple in a clear and concise way. DouDou spoke very gently, her Mandarin was very standard, and she was very knowledgeable. As fellow travelers to the starting point of the Silk Road, she also helped us better understand Quanzhou, a World Heritage city. Our group of eight met at the temple gate on time in the afternoon. Teacher DouDou called us the night before to let us know, and we started our fulfilling guided tour with headphones. We were also lucky enough to happen to be there on the 26th of the lunar calendar, the last Buddhist service day before the New Year, and we experienced the rich folk customs of Quanzhou. Everyone who comes to Kaiyuan Temple must hire a guided tour; it truly makes a difference.
