The Blue Lagoon is a wonder of Iceland. Named one of the 25 Wonders of the World by National Geographic, the Blue Lagoon is praised for its unique geothermal seawater. Rich in silica, algae and minerals – these are what give the Blue Lagoon its skin-nourishing properties. With a sauna, steam room, steam cave, mask bar, massage waterfall and in-water beverage bar, the Blue Lagoon is a unique and unforgettable experience. *Blue Lagoon opening hours:June 22-August 20 - 07:00-23:00August 21-June 21 - 08:00-22:00Christmas Eve - 08:00-16:00New Years Eve - 08:00-18:00(Retreat Spa) Open daily - 08:00-20:00*Please leave the Blue Lagoon 30 minutes before closing time.*The Blue Lagoon is only 20 minutes from Keflavík Airport and 50 minutes from downtown Reykjavík. From either starting point, simply take Reykjanesbraut (Highway 41) to Grindavíkurvegur (Highway 43) and follow the signs to the Blue Lagoon.*Official transport partner, offering Round-trip bus from Keflavík and Reykjavík.*The Blue Lagoon bus departs from the Blue Lagoon every hour. If you haven't booked your ticket yet, you can buy one from the driver.*There is no direct bus from the airport to the Blue Lagoon, but the bus terminal (with departure time to the Blue Lagoon every hour) is only 1 km from Reykjavík Airport.*Blue Lagoon admission ticket prices vary by time of year.*The minimum age requirement to enter the Blue Lagoon is two years old. Children aged 2-13 years old are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Towels, silicone masks, shared with parents/guardians. Excluded: personal lockers, first free drink, bathrobes. Children 8 years and under must wear a swim ring. Swim rings are available for sale at the entrance of the Blue Lagoon and are free of charge. Due to the water depth of 1.4 meters/4.7 feet, all children in the Blue Lagoon must be supervised by a parent or guardian. One adult may accompany up to two children.*The Blue Lake is 1.4 metres/4.7 feet deep at its deepest point, but most areas are shallower. However, the bottom of the Blue Lake is naturally uneven, so caution is required. There is an overview map of the Blue Lake at the entrance showing depths and temperatures.* admission ticket come with a one-hour flex time. For example, a 13:00 admission ticket means you can arrive between 13:00 and 14:00. However, there is no guarantee of entry if you arrive outside of your ticket time, so it is recommended to arrive on time.*E-tickets can only be used once. admission ticket are only valid on the date and time selected, Blue Lagoon cannot guarantee a spot if you do not arrive on the booked date and time.*You do not need to print your e-ticket. You can present it on your mobile device.*Both admission tickets (Comfort and Premium) include the use of towels. However, the Premium ticket also includes the use of bathrobes. If you have a Comfort ticket and would like bathrobes, you can rent them for 1500 ISK each. Also note that Blue Lagoon shower gel and conditioner are provided free of charge to all guests and can be found in the shower facilities. The drying area also has Blue Lagoon moisturizing cream.*Swimsuits are required in all areas in and around the Blue Lagoon, including the sauna. You can bring your own swimsuit or rent one from reception. You can also rent towels and bathrobes. All bathrobes are available in a variety of sizes, from S to XL.*You don't need to know how to swim to visit the Blue Lagoon. The water is shallow in many places, and at the edge of the lake, it's less than 0.8 meters/2.6 feet deep, which is perfect for resting and relaxing. The further you go into the water, the deeper it gets. Children aged 2-8 years must wear a swimming buoy, which we provide. Adults can also request a swimming buoy. Lifeguards are on duty to ensure safety.*Tickets are valid for the all-day. However, for your safety and health, two hours in the water is usually the limit. The average stay in the Blue Lagoon is four hours.*The Blue Lagoon water temperature is between 37° and 40°C (98°-104°F) and pregnant women can bathe in the Blue Lagoon, but it is important that each pregnant woman assess her physical condition before entering the water.*The electronic bracelet you receive upon arrival. It has two main functions: it is the key to your personal locker and it is also your tool for purchasing refreshments. If you lose your bracelet, a fee of 5,000 ISK will be charged.*If required, you can rent a swimsuit for 800 ISK and a bathrobe for 1500 ISK. Swim caps are not available for rent at the Blue Lagoon, but are available at the Blue Lagoon Shop.*It is recommended that you remove all jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.) before entering the lagoon. This will ensure that you do not lose your belongings or have them damaged by the geothermal seawater which contains high levels of silica, algae and minerals.*Iceland's weather is unpredictable and changeable, especially during the winter. However, weather-related closures of the Blue Lagoon are extremely rare, having only occurred three times in the past decade. Even when they did happen, the reason for the closure was not rain, snow, sleet, hail, or sub-zero temperatures. Rather, it was due to ongoing hurricanes.
