At 8:50am, I departed from the state-owned station and arrived at Gubei Water Town after a two-hour drive. It was very similar to the ancient city of Lijiang, Yunnan. Very few passengers were visiting it on the same day. After the water town, it is the Simatai Great Wall. You can choose to climb the city by cable car. I choose to walk to the city/downtown. The scenery is very beautiful. The 7:30pm collection returned to Beijing, the tour guide explained very detailed, worth recommending.★

Highly recommend this half day guide. Our guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and very organised on the day. She showed us around the whole of forbidden city and told us so much about every part, something we wouldn't have got just visiting ourselves. She took time to check on everyone's welfare and had plenty of time for questions about the palace or just china in general. Overall certainly worth booking as it just wouldn't be possible to experience as much, or learn as much about the forbidden city. Communication was spot on before the visit with Lisa arranging everything over wechat.
