Hooray, okay. Let's start with the fact that I'm the only one in the group from Russia, over 60 years old (my birthday is today), and I found myself without internet access or a translator. Kristina, our guide, came to the rescue. We communicated with an offline translator on her side and assigned me to a married couple so I could somehow... everything went perfectly. The ascent was loss-free. A huge thank you to Kristina! By the way, I booked the excursion from Russia, through the website, and everything was spot on. Wishing the "Busda" team prosperity. Highly recommend this tour! Our guide, Mr. Sun, was professional and responsible, providing clear and organized explanations. He had excellent control over the route and time, and the entire trip was free of shopping stops and extra fees, making for a fantastic experience. The tour guide was also very friendly and attentive, answering all questions and proactively helping to solve any problems – very reliable. This trip to the Great Wall with my child was a very enjoyable and trustworthy experience!★

Mary reached out the day before via WhatsApp and answered my logistic questions. Overall I’m very happy I joined her tour. She is patient, upbeat, and explained well without being overwhelming. Perhaps I’m out of shape, but this ~5 hours walking tour was intense during the last hour or so. Be sure to wear comfiest shoes and bundled up! Also I’m glad Mary’s notes did mention bringing drinks and snacks with you. The snack shops inside the Forbidden City were too long to wait.★

Our snowy trip to the Mutianyu Great Wall was absolutely magical. Seeing the Great Wall blanketed in white snow was a breathtaking wow moment—I completely fell in love.
The bus arrived on time, and our tour guide Amelia explained everything clearly on the way, which made us feel prepared and at ease. She also explained the different routes on the wall and gave us the option to choose, which we really appreciated.
The countryside buffet included with our ticket was delicious and comforting—something I would happily choose over Burger King or Subway. We also loved the optional Great Wall certificate as a meaningful keepsake. The cable car ride going up was a bit scary, but the ride down was smooth and enjoyable.
We’re very glad we chose Mutianyu over Badaling. There was a small misunderstanding about an earlier bus departure, but the lady organizer handled it kindly and professionally, personally apologizing and making sure everything went smoothly. The experience was surreal!★

The teacher, a native of the Temple of Heaven area, possessed an astonishing wealth of knowledge. His explanations of the sites were far from being memorized tour guide scripts; rather, he effortlessly weaved in history, culture, anecdotes, and interesting stories, like a learned friend recounting tales. He not only told us "what this is," but also vividly explained "why it is this way" and "the stories behind it," bringing even the silent bricks and tiles to life with warmth.
