Fascinating tour of mid-Etna 1690’s eruptions (craters), massive 1991 lava flow (Bola valley) , lava tibe. Tastings at end were nice and light lunch was even better. Our guide was enthusiastic, attentive and very knowledgeable. Beautiful flora too. While this tour doesn’t go to very active (at the time of our tour) lava fountains at top (compare with Hawaii Mauna Loa helicopter tours), it was way more interesting than Haleakala (Maui) summit. ★

The tour was fantastic! We were lucky to have beautiful weather and clear views! The views were breathtaking. Our guide, Antonio, told us a lot about Etna, spoke fluent English, and was a pleasure to listen to. The 4x4 bus ride was quite an experience in itself, with the sharp turns, steep inclines, bumps, and potholes. The short hikes we did were easy to do. Walking along the crater rim from the 2002 eruption was fascinating! We had plenty of time to look around and take photos. This tour is definitely recommended!
