I recently joined the Heritage Walk in Fontainhas with the Make It Happen team, and it honestly became one of the most beautiful experiences of my Goa trip.
Our guide, Calvin Gomes, was amazing. He did not just share information, he shared stories. The way he spoke about the Portuguese influence, the architecture, the families who have lived there for generations, and the small cultural details made everything feel so alive and personal.
Walking through the colorful lanes of Fontainhas felt peaceful and grounding. The old houses, quiet streets, small chapels, and local bakeries gave such a calm and soulful energy. It felt like stepping into a different time.
What I appreciated most was that the walk felt genuine. It was not rushed. It was thoughtful, interactive, and respectful to the community.
If you want to experience Goa beyond beaches and nightlife, I truly recommend this heritage walk. It gives you a deeper understanding of the place and leaves you feeling connected.

Reviews: Private Tour of Butterfly Sanctuary and Spice Plantation

The Butterfly Conservatory of Goa was an unforgettable and magical place! We saw a handful of different butterflies and had the chance to see India’s largest butterfly, Golden Birdwing. My family and I also saw 2 giant spiders! Our guide was very sweet and shared his story of he and his wife began this place over a decade ago. The facility also features a display of gemstones along with a box full of them which one can mix and match to purchase.
The Tropical Spice Plantation came with a warm welcoming when passing through the bridge by means of having flowers tossed at us. It was delightful and we were given a lemongrass & ginger tea before our tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the different spices we saw! To conclude the tour she gave us each a lavender oil drip down our backs to cool us off and promote a feeling of relaxation. There’s a cute small shop to purchase spices, oil, honey, and other natural handmade products for sale, so be sure to make a pitstop there! Just before leaving my family and I enjoyed an array of buffet style Indian cuisine.

This private Panjim tour was one of the highlights of our time in Goa. Bob was knowledgeable, warm, and easy to spend the day with. Visiting the traditional Portuguese house was especially fascinating, it really brought Goan history and culture to life and gave us insight into how families lived during that period. The tour also included an authentic Goan meal, local seasonal sweets, and comfortable private transport. Everything was thoughtfully planned and executed.
We would highly recommend this tour to allow you to see the history of Goa and not just the typical tourist side.★

Our guide was Joe who took us to see the local historical and contemporary sites. He was extremely knowledgeable and flexible with the day’s arrangements. We learnt so much about the interesting history of Goa. Vinod was a great driver. We had a wonderful day and I would really recommend.★
