Wat Paknam is famous for its white pagoda with an emerald-colored stupa, which can only be seen here in Thailand. The highlight is on the fourth floor. Step inside and you'll be transported to a fantastical world that makes you feel as if you're in space.

Wat Mahathat with the Buddha head trapped in tree roots
Wat Mahathat is a place you've probably seen in guidebooks. The Buddha's head fell off its body in the mid-1600s and has since been re-attached to the base, remaining horizontal, making it truly miraculous that it remains in its current state.
●11:15
Wat Phra Si Sanphet, where three kings of the Ayutthaya dynasty rest
This is the most important temple within the Ayutthaya Royal Palace, with three Sri Lankan-style pagodas. It is the guardian temple where three famous Ayutthaya kings rest, and is like the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in the Bangkok dynasty.

Take an elephant ride at the Elephant Camp (approximately 10 minutes)
Enjoy an activity unique to Thailand: riding an elephant with a mahout. It's on a flat road, not in the jungle, so even first-timers can feel at ease.

Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, built by King U-Thong, the first king of the Ayutthaya dynasty
This temple was built by King U-Thong, who founded the Ayutthaya dynasty in 1351. This pagoda was built to commemorate the victory of King Naresuan the Great in single combat against a Burmese prince in 1592.

Giant Pink Ganesha at Wat Saman Rattanaram
This temple is famous for its incredibly fast granting of prayers. It is said that wishes are granted three times faster than normal. While rats of various colors are placed around the Pink Ganesha, it is the two white rats in front that grant wishes. It is said that if you whisper your wish into one of the rats' ears, the rats will convey it to Ganesha. When whispering your wish, be sure to cover the other ear! Otherwise, your words will be ignored. It is a must to take a commemorative photo with the rat of the color of the day of the week you were born! Setting it as your profile picture on social media may bring you even more luck!
