My atrip.com account has been hacked and unlink from my email. Luckily we have have printed the booking details on a paper before traveling . Trip.com has been too slow in responding and taking action to protect the account security. At the end, my account was used to book hotel and flights by the hacker 😔

Reviews: Chocolate Bar Making Workshop - York Cocoa Works
Guest User2024-06-26
As soon as you step into the building, the smell of chocolate hits you!
The lady that led the chocolate bar making session was Anabelle. She was a great leader. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and had a good sense of humour.
To start the session, we learned where cocoa comes from and its origins. Anabelle had good knowledge of this and relayed the information with photographs. She then spoke about the manufacturing process of the chocolate on their site. During this time, we got to try a piece of white, milk, and dark chocolate. These were set out nicely on wooden slabs.
Then, we got started on making our own chocolate bar.
First, we selected the chocolate we wanted and broke this into small pieces. I wanted white chocolate, but this was unavailable due to the pricing of white chocolate. Anabelle explained the reason to us all as to why we were unable to choose white chocolate and said hopefully in the future, white chocolate will be an option again. We then used a hair dryer to melt the chocolate and selected what oil flavourings, if any, we wanted to add to our chocolate (raspberry, pineapple, strawberry, orange and mint. These were just some of the options). Afterwards, we were called up in pairs to select our toppings/decorations. You could choose from marshmallows, rice crispies, honeycomb, fudge, banana, raisins, ginger, sprinkles, salt, black pepper, chilli flakes and chocolate candy. Annabelle allowed us to have as many flavourings/decorations as we like. Once mixed, you pour your mixture into a mould (you can choose the design), and these are then placed in the fridge for half an hour. Finally, you can lick out the chocolate in the bowl - yummy!
As said above, the chocolate must be in the fridge for half an hour. So after the session, you can wait in the cafe and enjoy a drink and some food or come back at a later time to collect.
I liked that there were only 8 of us in the session. The group size was not too big, which allowed you to interact with the leader of the session and ask questions. I did not feel rushed during the chocolate making and decorating process. The session lasted an hour. I had a really enjoyable time, and it will be something I always remember. I definitely recommend this if you are a chocolate lover. Yes, it is something you could do at home, but going to a chocolate manufacturer and making the bar right there makes it different and more special.
