Our guide, Chris, was very lively and funny, but also very knowledgeable. He shared a lot of interesting facts about the Highlands and Scottish trivia throughout the journey, and we had the chance to see many different places. I found the stops to be reasonably timed, especially around lunchtime and for the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which gave us the chance to see the train. Overall, a lovely experience that I sincerely recommend with Stewart Tours!

I took a tour with an English-speaking driver-guide. There was plenty of information, but the entire trip, for 12 hours, was filled with loud music. I was tired.

Great tour, very knowledgeable guide and overall amazing experience. This package includes the admition to the castle itself together with an informative guide. Highly recommend taking this tour, it poured a lot of light onto the Scottish history, especially the witch trials. Extremely interesting and totally worth it!

Having not ever visited the Edinburgh Dungeons , decided it was about time we ticked it off the list. Photography is prohibited, but then you wouldn’t want to give away any of the scary surprises anyway. Let’s just say there are different chilling scenarios in each location within the building as you travel through it. On each site there are enthusiastic and energetic costumed performers that enact spooky Scottish historical dramatisations, and crowd participation is very much encouraged. There’s a lot of tongue-in-cheek humour & good-natured banter, as well as little unexpected turn of events. The staff do ask that you inform them if you have back/neck problems , or are pregnant, so that you can avoid these unanticipated “scares”. It was probably 90 minutes later that we emerged , shell-shocked, out into daylight via the well-stocked shop - so the tickets were , in our opinion worth the entertaining experience. ( Tip - look online for relevant discount codes before booking )
