Reviews: Half-day tour of the Forbidden City, Beijing | Group tour with Chinese/English guided tour available [Admission included]

Fortunately, we elderly folks had hired a tour guide and rented electric wheelchairs, making our three-hour tour of the Forbidden City very efficient and comfortable. The tour guide was incredibly patient and took great care of the elderly. His explanations were also very engaging. The weather was exceptionally nice yesterday, and everyone had a great time without feeling too tired.

We were part of a 20 people group and the focus was on cental area. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful. At some point we decided to explore the side areas on our own. It’s quite hot and the place is huge, better take an umbrella with you.

Reviews: Beijing: Day Trip to The Palace Museum/Forbidden City and Mutianyu Great Wall with Admission Ticket by BUSDA
Guest User2025-04-06
Because of the small group size and my limited time, we could only visit these two places in one day. The trip was divided into two parts. The tour guide took us to Mutianyu by taxi in the middle, and we returned by bus in the evening. Overall, it was okay. Due to time constraints, we didn't get to see the Treasure Gallery or get our stamps. On the second day of the holiday, there was a lot of traffic. What usually takes 1.5 hours took more than 2 hours, so we didn't get back to the Olympic Sports Center until 8:30 pm. The number of people at the Forbidden City was acceptable. Mutianyu was fantastic, the scenery was truly beautiful. Only the watchtowers at No. 14 and No. 17 required a wait; the rest were fine.
